German Jungheinrich Group and Lynx Express ‘close partnership’ praised

The ‘remarkably close partnership’ between Lynx Express and its customer, fork lift truck manufacturer the Jungheinrich Group, has been singled out for praise in helping the German company win two major categories in the European Supply Chain Excellence Awards.

Jungheinrich took the award in the Engineering and General Manufacturing category and capped this success by being awarded the Overall Winner of the 2003 Awards.

Organised by Logistics Europe Magazine, the judges were impressed by Jungheinrich’s clever investment in technology and its ‘remarkably close partnership’ with Lynx.

The judges verdict: “All field service engineers have laptops which can be plugged into a truck. These will run diagnostics software, identify the required part numbers, and order these on line, for delivery by contractor Lynx direct to the engineers’ vans by 07.00am. Lynx also recovers the parts for return as part of the ‘Supply Chain’ solution ”.

David Burtenshaw Chief Executive of Lynx Express commented: “We are delighted by Jungheinrich Group’s success, particularly because it has been recognised that we have played a part in helping them to win the award. Jungheinrich is an important customer and indeed valued partner of Lynx Express.”
