DHL opens new Mexican gateway

With an investment of USD6,000, the DHL Internacional de Mexico logistics and package delivery company has inaugurated its gateway, with which it will strengthen its presence in the interior of the country, as well as its connections with the US and Canada. The gateway is expected to generate a turnover of USD6mil per year and to create 200 direct and indirect jobs. DHL has a market share of around 35% in Mexico, and plans to increase the flow of incoming packages by around 170 as well as significantly reducing both arrival and departure times. The company’s Mexican director, Ms. Leticia Navarro, expects sales to increase by 13% in 2004. DHL has 200 service centers in Mexico.
