Wincanton appoints new managing director for grocery

British logistics company Wincanton, has appointed James Hurrell as Managing Director for Grocery.

Wincanton’s grocery team helps retailers meet growing consumer expectations through the provision of transport, warehousing and specialist consultancy services. It’s customers include ASDA, The Cooperative Group, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose.

Speaking about his appointment James said: “Grocery retailers – whether they are supermarkets, convenience stores, discounters or online players – are under pressure like never before to deliver against increasingly demanding consumer expectations, without compromising quality. The pace of change within grocery has never been so fast.
