Japanese Gov’t endorses Nippon Express for special mail delivery

A government panel in charge of postal services policy on Tuesday approved an application by Nippon Express Co to launch a special mail delivery service, panel officials said.

Following the approval, the Ministry of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications will issue a business license to Nippon Express, making it the first major transport company to begin special mail deliveries since last April when the government allowed private firms to handle mail delivery on certain conditions, including delivery within three hours.
