Two newcomers join UK’s fast-growing pallet network sector
Two newcomers have joined the UK’s fast-growing pallet network sector.
Pallet-Track, set up by Jack Corrie, has its hub in Wednesbury, in the West Midlands, and is aiming for volumes of 1,500-2,000 pallets a night by the end of the year.
Three-quarters of the 43 members signed up were new to the pallet sector, Corrie said, disproving the charge that all major hauliers were already signed up to a network.
Members own 25% of the business and a director would be chosen from their ranks, he added.
Pallnet is the other new kid on the block. It plans to find a niche as a European network and will open a central hub in Lyon in May, customer services manager Elizabeth Swain said.
