New organization at Deutsche Post to strengthen mail business

Klaus Knappik chairs new MAIL International Divisional Board
A separate MAIL International Divisional Board to be chaired by Klaus Knappik is being formed within the MAIL Corporate Division. “Through its new organizational orientation Deutsche Post is supporting the tapping of growth opportunities in the international mail market,” emphasizes Corporate Board Member Dr. Hans-Dieter Petram.

The Deutsche Post strategy aims to tap into additional growth perspectives based on the importance of the respective national mail markets and the framework regulatory conditions associated with them. This encompasses offers along the entire value chain for mail. The new management structure will strengthen Deutsche Post’s international mail business.

In the future, management responsibility for the establishment and development of business operations in the regions and countries will be geographically oriented to three regions. Mike Proffitt will be responsible for Europe. Dr. Herbert Michael Zapf, Managing Director International Relations and member of the MAIL Divisional Board will also assume this function in the MAIL International Divisional Board and furthermore be responsible for the Asia/Pacific and EMA region. The Americas region will be temporarily managed by Klaus Knappik in addition to his position as Chairman of the MAIL International Divisional Board.

The organization of value-added services in the MAIL Corporate Division is also being restructured. All address, printing, in-house and call center activities are combined in the Value-added Services Business Department led by Günter Jordan and are being managed with an eye to sustainable, independent growth. The offers also help promote the support and stabilization of the core business in close cooperation with the Marketing and Sales Business Departments.

With this new management organization, Deutsche Post is in an excellent position both in Germany as well as for pursuing its expansion strategy on the mail market worldwide.
