TNT new contracts exceed billion euros

TNT Logistics has won two major logistics contracts in Italy. The first is a renewal of a contract with Fiat for its spare parts distribution business. The five year deal is estimated to be worth €1bn over its lifetime. The contract will include packaging, storage and delivery of spare parts to dealers in Europe, as well as warehousing activities in Italy, France, UK, Spain, Poland, Austria and Greece.

Less than a year ago, as part of a joint venture, TNT took over the entire inbound logistics for Fiat’s production in Italy. The car manufacturer is already TNT’s biggest single client accounting for about 12% of its revenues. In total 400 suppliers deliver their products through TNT, 1,890 TNT employees work for Fiat and the company manages 62,000 sq m of warehousing.

Also in the Italian market, the company has announced a three year contract with SMA, a supermarket division of Gruppo Rinascente. TNT Logistics will manage the logistics activities for non-seasonal items such as electronics and textile products and distribute to 150 outlets in the Italian regions of Lombardy, Veneto and Lazio. This builds on its existing relationship with Gruppo Rinascente for which it already provides food logistics services.
