TNT eyes 20pc growth in life sciences market
TNT, the global business logistics and business-to-business express provider, sees continuous growth of 20 percent for the life sciences market in Malaysia, specifically in the pharmaceutical and clinical trial research sectors.
TNT Asia’s general manager for life sciences Ni Sheng Jie said TNT is on track to achieve this success as all signs are pointing upwards.
Its operations in Malaysia recorded more than 1,000 samples shipped last year, thus, Ni is optimistic the shipment will grow by 50 percent this year.
Emphasising the increasing importance of technology to provide strong back-end systems, Ni said TNT has earmarked RM10 million for investment in information technology for the next five years in Malaysia.
“Looking at the numbers, we are confident of further strengthening our competitive edge in the market especially in the life sciences market,” said Ni in a statement recently.
“TNT life sciences division’s mission is to give pharmaceutical and clinical research companies access to the most efficient and reliable clinical trial logistics processes by capitalising on our one-stop clinic specific solutions and value-added services,” said Ni “Coupled with our industry-wide experience and dedicated team, TNT is well positioned to meet customers’ requirements,” he added.
