Development Plan of Angolan Postal Services Estimated At Usd 25 Million
The Plan for the Development of the Angolan Postal Services, estimated at USD 25 million was approved Friday, in Luanda, by the Cabinet Council.
According to press note issued after the meeting, chaired by the Angolan Head Of State, Jose Eduardo Dos Santos, the implementation of this plan, starting this year, foresees that, in the field of the postal services, should be created networks of multifunctional stationss of new and modern services with economic profitability.
This plan is to be implemented in nine years time, in three different phases, to be extended until 2012.
According to the Vice Minister of Posts and Telecommunication, Ana Maria Guimaraes, the plan arised from a reform process which started in 2001 in the sector.
The official seized the occasion to refer that the Plan also entails the rehabilitation of about 160 postal stations countrywide, adding that only 53 of them are operating.
On the other hand, the Cabinet Council designated the new Administration Council of the National Company of Post Office and Telegraph of Angola to be chaired by Francisco Domingos Esperanca.
