Yodel and CollectPlus take delivery of new fleet of branded trailers

UK-based parcel carrier Yodel and its store-based delivery and returns service, CollectPlus, have taken delivery of 50 new twin axle Cartwright trailers that feature both brands.

In addition, 199 of Yodel’s existing eco trailers and 105 double deck units have also been refurbished and dual-branded with Yodel and CollectPlus logos. The move marks the first time that the CollectPlus brand can be seen on the road.

The trailers will be towed by Yodel tractor units and will be used to collect parcels from the carrier’s retail partners before transporting them to one of Yodel’s three central sorts. From there, they will head onto Yodel’s local depots where they will be sorted again for final mile van delivery – both directly to customers, and to over 7,000 CollectPlus Points across the UK.

John Hughes, executive chairman of Yodel and CollectPlus, commented: “We are delighted to see our new branded trailers on the road, travelling the length of the UK’s motorways to ensure that customers receive their deliveries on time.  It’s a particularly exciting move for CollectPlus as it releases the brand from the confines of our store collection Points, to raise awareness of the convenience that the service offers customers nationwide.”

According to Yodel, the CollectPlus service has expanded in recent years and currently handles about 375,000 parcels a week.
