Colombia DHL revenue op 21 pct Y/Y 2004

The sales of the Colombian unit of global carrier and package delivery company DHL Express increased 20.74 pct year-on-year in 2004, it was reported on January 24, 2005.

Higher revenue was driven up by the growth of the cargo, transported by the company in 2004, which rose to 5.1 million kg in 2004 from 3.5 million kg in 2003. The parcels, transported by DHL Colombia unit, grew 15 pct year-on-year in 2004.

The worldwide operations of DHL, controlled by the German postal operator Deutsche Post, include 220 countries and territories around the world and a total 170,000 employees.

[Editor’s note: DHL announced in late 2004 that it was preparing a new publicity campaign for Mexico, costing between $2.0 mln (1.5 mln euro) and $2.5 mln (1.9 mln euro), to re-enforce its corporate image.]
