Tesco trials one hour delivery in the Midlands

British grocery store Tesco has begun trialing a new rapid delivery service  called Whoosh that’ll get food to their customers’ doors within an hour. It is currently being tested in the Midlands.

If the trial is successful, the supermarket could bring out the service to other parts of the UK.

The one-hour delivery is available for shoppers who live near its Wolverhampton Willenhall Express store.

Orders will be placed via Tesco’s app or on its website, with customers charged a £5 delivery fee, there is also an added £2 charge if you spend under £15.

Chris Poad, online managing director at Tesco, said: “Customers are telling us that they would welcome the addition of a 60-minute delivery to their door option as part of our online grocery service.

“We’ll use the pilot to understand how Whoosh could work best for both our customers and our colleagues.”

Tesco says the service will expand to other stores across the UK if the trial is successful.
