TNT Express invests USD 810,000 in new facilities at Abu Dhabi and Al Ain

TNT Express – the world’s leading business to business express delivery company – today announced that it is investing US$810,000 in new facilities in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain (UAE) to establish closer links with its customers and provide them with a greater variety of products.

The facilities – to open by the end of the year – are a direct response to TNT’s growth in the Emirates region, as Abu Dhabi in particular, strives to expand at the same rate as Dubai. With the high street outlet in Al Ain offering a full range of products, services and sales staff to provide assistance, the aim is also to serve the increasing needs of our customers. “Many of TNT’s regular customers operate from branches in Al Ain, so this new office will facilitate better communications, performance and delivery,” said Mark Pell, TNT Managing Director, Gulf.

“Historically we have serviced Al Ain from Dubai but now we are looking to provide local resources to this market. TNT’s new outlet will establish the company’s presence in Al Ain and will be followed by additional facilities over the next twelve months”, continued Pell.

TNT’s facility in Al Ain will offer ultimate flexibility and will be fully staffed six days a week, from Saturday through to Thursday. This will give cash customers a convenient and accessible drop off point for deliverable goods.

The other new facilities – including a road express operations centre in Abu Dhabi and a walk-in Express facility in the city of Al Ain – are part of TNT’s Emirates-wide restructuring plan, designed to triple TNT’s UAE presence within five years.

“TNT’s expansion is largely due to the success of non document product growth. This part of the business is increasing at over 40% annually and larger premises are required to cope with the extra demand. The company’s expansion is primed to capitalise on the commercial growth of Abu Dhabi and the wider area, demonstrating our commitment to a strong regional market,” said Mark Pell, TNT Managing Director, Gulf.

The developments in Al Ain and TNT’s Middle East Road Network (MERN) – which connects Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dhahran, Doha, Jeddah, Kuwait, Muscat and Riyadh – are part of the company’s ongoing commitment to exceed customer expectations in the transfer of goods and documents around the world.
