DHL opens new service centre in India

DHL has opened its new service centre in Chennai. The new centre will cater to 43 courier routes operating out of it in 2 cycles, which will nearly double the current shipment handling capacity at the centre. The new centre will also have the DHL Customer Service Centre, which can double up as the disaster recovery site. DHL has over 5,000 customers in Tamil Nadu and Chennai is the third largest market for the company in India.

In India, the company has 20 service centres with 11,000 square metres of operation space. According to the company, DHL India is growing at 20-25 percent a year.
