JD delivery drones help with disaster relief in China

E-commerce player JD has reported that its autonomous logistics drones have been helping to deliver emergency supplies and provide disaster relief services to flood-stricken regions of China.

In a notice posted on its website today (26 July), JD said that a logistics drone was dispatched from Xi’an to Henan province and since last Thursday (22 July) it has been operating in Xinxiang, to the north of Zhengzhou.

In addition to transporting goods and supplies, JD’s rescue drones have also been used in Zhongmou county of Zhengzhou, to help survey the flood.

The notice added that JD.com has been delivering a range of emergency supplies to people affected by the flooding in the Henan province, from raincoats, rubber shoes and spades to instant noodles and mineral water.
