DHL Express makes electric deliveries in Berlin

DHL Express recently announced that it has started operations at its new centre in Berlin Tempelhof, making ‘CO2-free’ deliveries with electric vehicles.

In a statement issued in July, the company said that it has invested around €31 million in the station, which has state-of-the-art sorting facilities and is in line with Deutsche Post DHL Group’s new sustainability goals for further growth in shipment volumes through the use of environmentally friendly technologies.

The company added: “In order to respond to the continuing increase in demand for national and international express shipments, operating and administrative space of a total of 7,000 m2 is now available at the new location. In addition, the company relies on CO2-free delivery in the streets of Berlin and will also supply its customers there with 61 fully electrically powered vehicles in the future.
