NZ Post to shutdown eBill service
The electronic payment service eBill will be withdrawn from 24 July 2006. The last date users will be able to receive new electronic bills via eBill will be 12 June 2006 and the last date to make any payments via eBill is 10 July 2006.
The relevant organisation(s) that send electronic bills and receive payments via eBill will be in contact with users directly to advise what other payment options they offer.
Since 1999 many subscribers have used this free service to receive bills and make payments online. While considered a convenient tool by many of its users, the level of customer use is limited. New Zealand Post has made the decision to withdraw the service after a review.
The following 20 organisations in New Zealand currently let users pay them using eBill: Genesis Energy, Vodafone, TelstraClear, BNZ Global Plus, BNZ Visa & MasterCard, TradeMe, Contact Energy, Energy Online, Land Information New Zealand, Manukau City Council – Water & Land, Hutt City Council, Upper Hutt City Council, Baycorp, New Zealand Post PO Box and Private Bags, Trust Power, Wellington Parking Fines, Dunn & Bradstreet, Call South, Call Plus Global, 0800 Reconx.
