TNT Express launches new air route to Czech Republic

TNT Express – the world’s leading business to business express delivery company – today announced that it has launched a new air route between its European air hub in Liège, Belgium, and Brno airport in the Czech Republic.

The new route – which operates a 10 tonne capacity Bae146 aircraft every week day from Liège to Brno via Prague on both outbound and return journeys – provides significantly improved access to the east of the Czech Republic and, for the first time, enables guaranteed delivery before 9am and 12am to and from anywhere in Europe.

“The additional air route to Brno airport will substantially improve our access to the eastern side of the Czech Republic and reduce our reliance on the D1 highway, which suffers from heavy congestion. TNT Express is the only transport company to operate a daily air service to and from the region, which provides the company with a distinct advantage over competitors,” said Christian Drenthen, Managing Director, Worldwide Networks, TNT Express.

As the only Express carrier to operate scheduled cargo aircraft from Monday to Friday and with the new route offering later cut-off times, shorter transit times and greater flexibility, the company is ideally placed to serve customers in and around Brno, which is the second largest city in the Czech Republic.

“The addition of this new route offers our business-to-business customers later departure times for exports and earlier arrival times for imports, which demonstrates our commitment to providing customers with a faster, more reliable and more efficient service,” continued Drenthen.

The new route – which will also serve to relieve pressure from the company’s existing air hub in Prague – will bring the total number of European airports served by the TNT European Air Network to 71.
