Restructure of New Zealand Post's corporate section will see a number of head office staff laid off

New Zealand Post will be laying off some head office staff.
Communications Manager Richard MacLean says the redundancy is a result of a restructure of the company’s corporate section.
He has declined to say how many staff will lose their jobs.
They are being told at the moment and an official announcement will be made late this afternoon.

Sixty corporate staff are being made redundant at New Zealand Post.

Forty-five of those going are in Wellington, the remaining 15 in Auckland.

New Zealand Post spokeswoman, Suzanne Carter, describes the changes as logical and says they focus on prudent cost management.
