TNT has awarded Astec Conveyors a contract to design a reversible materials handling system as its new £8.2 million Birmingham depot. According to TNT, this is the first operation in the UK to be fitted with a high tech hub-style sorting system. Previous TNT depots highlighted floor congestion when transporting bulk goods and the high maintenance costs of flexible roller conveyors.
