GeoPost extends DPD network to Kazakhstan
The DPD network has been extended to Kazakhstan with the creation of the new joint venture, GeoPost Caspian. The expansion move is designed to take account of rising parcel volumes to the Eurasian region.
GeoPost Caspian was founded as a joint venture between local parcel operator Globalink in Kazakhstan and the Turkish DPD franchisee GeoPost Yurtici Kargo Servisi. The new company is the DPD franchisee for Kazakhstan.
DPD said in a statement that customers would benefit from the value-for-money prices and reliable parcel transit times offered by the franchisee. GeoPost Caspian offers a wide range of services besides domestic and international parcel delivery, in particular the import customs declaration by Globalink and nationwide delivery of import parcels. The integration in the DPD franchise system guarantees adherence to the proven quality standards of the DPD network.
“With the integration of Kazakhstan into its international network, DPD is responding to the progressive globalization in the market for B2B parcels, and is broadening the service portfolio for its worldwide customers,” stated Hans Fluri, CEO of DPD Germany. “Globalink is the ideal partner for this. The company belongs to the three largest national logistics providers in Kazakh market and is one of the most successful transport companies within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).”
