FedEx: Wouter Roels announced as new Regional President of Europe from July

FedEx Corporation has announced that Karen Reddington, Regional President of Europe, will retire June 30, 2024. Reddington will move into an advisory role starting on July 1, and will remain with the company until the end of the calendar year.

Wouter Roels, current Senior Vice President of Marketing and Customer Experience in Europe, will become the Regional President of Europe, effective July 1.

Reddington, who began her career with FedEx in 1997 as an operations research advisor, was promoted into several leadership positions before being named Regional Vice President, South Pacific in 2011. In 2014, she was promoted to Regional President of Asia Pacific (APAC), where she navigated the team through unprecedented growth and change in this critical region. Reddington was named to her current role in 2020.

“Karen has successfully guided her team of nearly 50,000 across 50 countries through a global pandemic and ongoing geopolitical uncertainty, all while navigating a very complex integration,” said Richard W. Smith, chief operating officer, International and chief executive officer, Airline, Federal Express Corp. “She has worked tirelessly to improve the customer experience and strengthen our position in Europe, laying a strong foundation for the future. I am confident that Wouter’s proven success with our DRIVE transformation makes him the best leader to build on this foundation and drive results in this important region.”

Roels joined FedEx in 2001 as an Associate Marketing Analyst and worked his way up through leadership positions across Europe, the United States, and MEISA. In addition to his current role as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Customer Experience, Roels established the Europe Domain within the company’s DRIVE transformation.
