Posten Bring: we can now handle more than twice as many packages in one hour

Posten Bring‘s second largest terminal, Logistikksenter Vestfold, opened on Monday. The terminal will be the hub for all mail, parcels and goods in the region.

“We have doubled the area from 8,000 to 16,000 square meters and adopted new technical solutions which mean that we can now handle more than twice as many packages in one hour compared to before. We also use technology that we have never used before in Norway, so that we streamline and simplify the work tasks of the employees,” says CEO Tone Wille in Posten Bring.

In sum, the new logistics centre contributes to a far more efficient distribution of letters, parcels and goods than previously in the region.

Future-oriented facility

The construction work is an extension of the terminal which was completed as recently as 2018, but just a few years later Posten Bring saw that the capacity had been exceeded.

– The terminal was built with a different pace of online shopping development in mind than what we got in connection with the pandemic. The number of packages exploded almost overnight and now we have set ourselves up for sustained growth here in Stokke for the next decade, continues CEO Wille.

  • The facility, which is BREEAM certified, now has 2,220 solar panels on the roof, which makes the terminal self-sufficient in renewable energy for large parts of the year.
  • A new charging facility at the logistics center in Stokke also makes the facility an important hub in Posten Bring’s national charging infrastructure and will be important for phasing out fossil vehicles that drive north and south from Vestfold.
  • In addition, the group has built its first longer corridor between Oslo-Stokke-Oslo where heavy vehicles that run on renewable energy are exclusively used.
