JD.com underscores its commitment to workforce welfare

JD.com, as known as JINGDONG, announced that starting March 1, 2025, it will provide full-time food delivery riders with comprehensive social insurance and housing fund contributions, known as “five insurances and one housing fund” under China’s social security system.

Part-time riders will also receive accident and health insurance.

Since its inception over 20 years ago, JD.com has prioritized employee well-being, fostering a work environment that promotes health, dignity, happiness, and achievement. The company invests billions annually in social insurance and housing fund contributions for frontline employees, including JD Logistics couriers and customer service staff.

JD.com also offers supplementary medical and accident insurance and has established the “Housing Plan,” which provides interest-free home loans to eligible employees. Additionally, JD.com has created a dedicated “Employee Relief Fund” to support employees and their families in urgent need, and the company invests heavily in employee training and mental health support, enhancing career development and overall well-being.

This initiative aligns with JD.com’s recent recruitment of “Quality Dine-In Restaurant” partners for JD Food Delivery, a new on-demand food delivery service announced on February 11. Upon its launch, JD Food Delivery introduced a zero-commission offer to attract high-standard dine-in establishments to join its platform by May 1, 2025. This takeout service is dedicated to providing extensive support to help these partners succeed, ultimately enhancing consumer satisfaction.

Establishing these industry-leading programs underscores JD.com’s dedication to employee welfare and consumer satisfaction, setting new standards in the delivery and dining sectors. JD.com remains dedicated to collaborating with various sectors to continuously improve the welfare of delivery riders and elevate service quality for consumers.
