Whistl CEO: although progress can be challenging.. we are not afraid of that challenge

Whistl has published its second annual ESG Report updating stakeholders on its activities and progress in its environment, social and governance strategy (ESG).

Following on from the inaugural report, this ESG Report covers 2024 and includes key highlights:

  • 13.1% carbon reduction
  • SBTi validation of Net Zero Targets
  • Launch of Carbon Fuel Calculator for HVO
  • 70% employee engagement Score
  • Climate Disclosure Project: B Score
  • Launch of Women at Whistl
  • Payroll Giving Quality Mark Silver Award

In 2024, the focus of the ESG activity was to validate the strategy by external bodies and to engage colleagues, suppliers and customers in activities that would have a positive impact on them and the communities in which Whistl operates.

The company retained and improved its EcoVadis Gold rating, renewed its Investors in People accreditation and won the Direct Commerce Award for Sustainability, recognising Whistl’s leadership within the Direct Commerce sector.

Ian Keilty, CEO Whistl, said: “Here at Whistl we are ambitious about what can be achieved through our ESG strategy, from reducing our carbon footprint, to promoting equality and diversity, to supporting our local communities. This ESG Report shows that we are putting words into action and we are making a true impact.

“We have a motivated team within Whistl and everyone is contributing, whether developing new carbon reduction products such as The Carbon Fuel Calculator, to donating to charity through salary sacrifice, or helping out at local schools.

“We believe in doing the right thing and although progress can be challenging due to the nature of the logistics industry, we are not afraid of that challenge.  Our strategy and efforts have been validated by external bodies and various awards.

“I want to congratulate everyone within the business on how they have engaged with suppliers, customers and local communities to ensure that we are having a positive impact through our ESG strategy.”
