Emirates Post’s Training Centre conducts training course for Iraq Post employees

Emirates Post’s Training and Development Centre (TDC) recently conducted a special training course for employees of Iraq Post in Dubai. The program enabled the participants to understand postal operations, customer focus and use of technology in raising standards, among other topics.

The participants were also taken on field trips to Ramoul Sorting Centre, EDC and EMP, to get a first hand understanding of different operations and activities of Emirates Post.

“The Training and Development Centre has been continuously enhancing its standards. Recently, we signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Universal Postal Union (UPU) to raise the standards further,” said Mrs. Wiaam Ghanem, Director of TDC and Acting Director of HR, Emirates Post.

The Training and Development Centre has been conducting training programs for postal employees from Arab countries, including Qatar and Oman. The Centre also conducts training courses for Emirates Post employees on a regular basis. In 2006, the Training Centre conducted training for 1,300 persons.

The courses offered by the Training Centre conform to UPU’s TRAINPOST program. Most courses incorporate the elements of ICDL and Profiles International.
