DHL Poland: 100 Servicepoints are operating
DHL Express (Poland) develops a network of DHL Servicepoints. The 100th point located at the Information Point of one of the largest commercial centre in Slask – Silesia City Center in Katowice – has just started operation.
“We commenced cooperation with DHL in September 2007. The service enjoys more and more popularity each day, and a lot of packages are sent abroad, e.g. to China and Australia. Commencement of cooperation and implementation of the programme, including employee training, were conducted very effectively, because DHL prepared detailed procedures for servicing shipments, and this facilitated the job of people employed at our information point. The margin obtained from sending of packages is an additional income for our company, whilst maintaining previous costs”, said Monika Magner, Office Manager in the Silesia City Center, responsible for operation of the information point.
Development of DHL Servicepoint network was started in 2006; in October there were 17 points located in 8 cities, operating in cooperation with 6 partners. A year later, in October 2007, DHL Servicepoint network grew to over 100 locations all over Poland, and its coverage includes 35 cities – both larger and smaller. 40 partners joined the network. Interest in courier services offered within the scope of DHL Servicepoint has increased significantly, which is indicated by the number of packages sent monthly. Comparing October 2007 with an analogous period in 2007, the increase amounted to almost 400 pct. According to the assumptions, the DHL Servicepoint services are used mainly by individual customers and small and medium companies. Most often customers send documents and presents in this manner.
“After one year of operation of Servicepoints, I can say that we are happy with the obtained results. We offered the customers a new product on the Polish market – DHL Express4You and we are happy to see that it becomes more and more popular. This is evidenced by number, both with respect to the increase of shipments sent in individual points and greater geographic coverage”, said Piotr Buczkowski, Deputy President for Sale and Marketing in DHL Express (Poland). “Experience acquired during this year will definitely be used in development of our network. Our plans are ambitious. At the end of 2008, DHL Servicepoint network will have 225 points.”
Development of DHL Servicepoint network in Poland is related with implementation of a global development strategy of First Choice “DHL – First Choice Company for the Customer.” DHL Servicepoint network is related with increase of services offered by DHL by a new segment – individual customers and small companies (the so-called SOHO – Small Office – Home Office).
