Deutsche Post expects its profits in 2009 to be “significantly better” than in 2008 but does not rule out another loss for the year.

Deutsche Post expects its profits in 2009 to be “significantly better” than in 2008 but does not rule out another loss for the year.

When asked by a German newspaper whether he was able to rule out a loss, CEO Frank Appel told Sueddeutsche Zeitung: “It is too early to tell you something about it.”

The company had said on 19 January it will not be able to predict its earnings for this year before the end of the first quarter.
