Postal workers in Belgium took to the streets on 3 March to protest over job downgrades, post office closures and what they say are outrageous profits being made by stakeholders.

Workers are furious that state-owned Post Danmark is to sell almost 25% of its stake in Belgium’s postal service to private equity partners CVC, making a profit of €200m [$252.6m] in just three years and that full-time jobs are being replaced by part-timers.

The strike is expected to continue for three days and has already had an impact on services.
