Pitney Bowes Broadens Incoming Mail Processing Capability With MailCode Technology-Acquired Technologies Leveraged to Complement Existing Pitney Bowes Incoming Messaging Solutions Systems
Pitney Bowes today announced the addition of high volume inbound mail sorting capability and voice recognition technology for automated address look-up to its
incoming messaging solutions product line. Pitney Bowes’ recent acquisition
of MailCode enabled the company to integrate the powerful Olympus(R) and
Voice Sort(TM) products into Pitney Bowes’ existing M3(TM) Mixed Mail
Manager product offerings; expanding the product’s capability to meet the
needs of mail operations of all sizes. These products will be marketed
through Incoming Messaging Solutions’ dedicated sales channel and supported
by Pitney Bowes world-class service network.
“The inbound mail stream is an area of the mail center that tends to be
overlooked. With our technology, we can help companies automate their
processes to reduce costs while increasing the efficiency of processing
incoming mail,” said Charlene Malone, Vice President and General Manager of
Pitney Bowes’ Incoming Messaging Solutions. “By adding Olympus(R) and Voice
Sort(TM) to our M3(TM) System product offering, Pitney Bowes now offers a
full range of incoming mail solutions for businesses to improve productivity
while achieving greater accuracy and faster processing time.”
Using OCR technology, Olympus(R) accurately identifies and sorts mail pieces
at high speeds including USPS incoming and interoffice mail. Its flexible
design supports a myriad of applications including outbound processing for
USPS presort discounts.
Designed exclusively for incoming mail applications, Voice Sort(TM)
eliminates the time consuming task of memorizing employee names and mail
stops. Utilizing patent pending Spell-It(TM) technology, Voice Sort(TM)
provides the highest-speed and most accurate voice processing available. It
improves the research mail process and reduces the traditional learning
curve to better manage employee training and job rotation.
The M3(TM) Mixed Mail Manager was designed specifically for the corporate
mail center environment. Using OCR technology, it quickly and automatically
processes the highly diverse kinds of mail that come into your business with
greater accuracy, including USPS and interoffice correspondence mail that
varies greatly in size, shape and thickness.
With these solutions, companies can reduce the amount of time it takes to
process incoming mail, sort mail with greater accuracy, create an accurate
source of recipient information and automatically track and report mail
operations information.
