The company will make the reductions in the face of a falling letter mail volumes, a company spokesman told Die Welt.
Out of the 82 letter sorting centres in Germany, 16 of them will no longer work on Sundays, while the volumes of mail delivered by postmen on Mondays will be reduced too.
