FedEx launches fifth annual FedEx Cares Week

FedEx has launched its fifth annual FedEx Cares Week, providing volunteer and service opportunities for team members both in the US and around the world. More than 5,000 FedEx volunteers will donate their time and talents to serving local organisations dedicated to improving the quality of life in the communities they serve.

“FedEx Cares Week gives FedEx team members in nearly 50 communities across the globe the opportunity to serve and make a difference in their own backyards,” said Rose Flenorl, manager of Global Signature Programs at FedEx. “The FedEx culture breeds a passion and commitment to the many communities in which we live and serve.  FedEx Cares Week is just one way we join together to give back.”

Now in its fifth year, FedEx Cares Week serves as the formal kick-off for the annual FedEx United Way campaign.  In addition to volunteering hundreds of thousands of hours each year, FedEx and its team members gave nearly $15m to the United Way in 2008.
