Magyar Posta to go mobile

Magyar Posta is to enter the local mobile market by teaming up with Vodafone, reports Portfolio. The article continues:

Magyar Posta plans to start a new service using Vodafone’s network to sell handsets and mobile access with pre-paid cards in regions of the country where no carriers have sales points.

A possible entering of virtual mobile carriers to the local market has been the subject of discussion for years, but so far no project has gone beyond the stage of talks. Index.hu learned on Tuesday that Magyar Posta nurtures plans to enter the mobile market and will start co-operation with Vodafone to this end.

Magyar Posta, which is to poised to become a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) , has registered the domain www.postafon.hu and although you cannot directly access the site (which is still under construction), its cached version is still available.
