Busiest day for USPS

USPS is bracing itself for its busiest day of the year today – 14 December. Americans will entrust more than 830m pieces of mail with the USPS today, more than 40% increase over the average daily volume of 583m pieces of mail.

The Postal Service also is seeing a dramatic increase in traffic to its website, usps.com.

While 97m customers will visit the Post Office this season, 41m will skip the trip and take advantage of convenient online shipping from home or office. More than 3m shipping labels are printed from home during the holidays using the Postal Service’s website.
