Two non-executive directors join Royal Mail

Royal Mail Group announced today the appointment of Orna Ni-Chionna and Cath Keers as non-executive directors. Ni-Chionna is senior independent director of Northern Foods and a non-executive director of HMV, and is also chairman of the Soil Association. She spent 18 years at McKinsey, where she became a partner in 1990 and co-led McKinsey’s European retail practice.

Keers is a non-executive director of Telefonica Europe and The Children’s Mutual. She was previously customer director and marketing director of O2 UK, and part of the team which turned O2 into one of the most successful mobile telephone companies in the UK.

Royal Mail Group chairman, Donald Brydon, said: “The consumer-focused skills and experience brought by both Orna and Cath will be an invaluable asset to Royal Mail. I am looking forward hugely to them becoming part of the team.”
