Strike halts Danish mail

Industrial action has halted mail delivery in parts of Denmark today (June 9).
Teams of drivers, who deliver mail to distribution facilities, have gone on strike in a protest to local wage deals.

Areas affected by the strike include capital city Copenhagen, and large parts of eastern Denmark, including areas in Zealand and Funen.

According to the Copenhagen Post, head of the personnel department at Post Danmark, Hans Erik Nielsen “regrets the inconvenience, but says that they will not begin to negotiate with the drivers until they resume their duties”.

Package deliveries to Zealand and Funen have also been hit.
