Kuwait to privatise postal service

The Kuwaiti government has announced plans to privatise its postal service. According to reports, Mohammad Al Busairi, communication minister and minister of state for national assembly affairs, said the operator would be privatised along with the country’s fixed line phone service.

The sell-off will take place during the next two years; Busairi was cited as saying in newspaper Al Seyassah.

The government has also suspended the issuing of licenses for new internet service providers until a telecommunications regulatory authority is created, Busairi added.
