Finnish mail faces more delays

Itella has said it expects delays in the delivery of mail across Finland this week. This has been caused by flight cabin crews across the country staging a walk-out.

In a statement, the operator said the most severe delays will be mail travelling from the south of the country to the north.

However, Itella said it has organised substitute transportation via road.

The company also expects delays for international mail.

Last month, mail was halted across the country after postal workers resorted to striking over pay.

A settlement was reached concerning the collective labour agreement for the communication and logistics sector, which ended the industrial action.
