Deutsche Post Expands Its Parcel Network Into France With Acquisition Of Parcel/Express Carrier Ducros Services Rapides

Deutsche Post will acquire a 68% majority interest in the publicly traded French parcel/express carrier Ducros Services Rapides which is based in Nimes. The main business of the logistics service provider, which was set up in 1948, is the delivery of commercial express and parcel shipments in France. Its wholly-owned subsidiary Transerra is active in Spain. The acquisition of this participating interest by Deutsche Post represents another important step towards the completion of its pan-European parcel network.
A total of 43 branches ensure Ducros’ presence in France. With a staff of approx. 2.200, it recorded an annual turnover of about DM 366 million (incl. its subsidiary).
