Kuehne + Nagel wins Continental Tyre deal

Kuehne + Nagel has taken over the management of warehouse operations for Continental Tyre at their production premises in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
In the scope of the new contract, Kuehne + Nagel will support Continental Tyre’s original equipment and aftermarket dealer business in the South African market.

The comprehensive service offering includes: receiving tyres from production, carrying out quality control checks, storage, inbound and outbound handling, picking and packing, inventory management as well as management of empty containers.

In addition, Kuehne + Nagel will provide an external warehousing solution for overflow volumes in Port Elizabeth.

Henning Kassen of Continental Reifen Deutschland, said: “We chose Kuehne + Nagel as our partner in South Africa due to their advanced technical know-how and because of their strategic fit as a global business partner.”

This new project will also strengthen our position in the South African automotive sector,” said Graham Smit, general manager contract logistics, Kuehne + Nagel South Africa.
