Deutsche Post could launch an app development service

Deutsche Post DHL is set to launch an app development service for smartphones and tablets. The operator will target small and medium-sized publishers from October.

Speaking to German business magazine Wirtschaftswoche, Deutsche Post DHL executive Lutz Glandt said, as a result of the development, the company will be able offer digital content to end users.

The magazine also said the company wants to offer apps from publications and newspapers.

Deutsche Post DHL will develop the content of the app and charge a flat rate per-edition.
