TNT Express and KLM Cargo expand partnership

TNT Express and KLM Cargo jointly announced that as from October 29, 2001, TNT Express will become the exclusive supplier of European flown feeder services for KLM Cargo. KLM stops it’s own freighter service in Europe.

The operation will start with joint use of TNT Express jet freighter capacity to and from key markets: Helsinki – four times per week, Dublin – seven times per week, Oporto – twice a week and Madrid – once a week. A truck service is used between the TNT Express air hub in Liège, Belgium and KLM’s hub at Schiphol.

The co-operation enables TNT Express to extend collection cut off times and provide shorter door to door delivery times in Europe. KLM Cargo will stop operating it’s own leased European freighter. Both parties have agreed to further expand the co-operation by improving frequencies and adding other destinations in the coming period.
