TNT Express UAE receives TAPA Certification
TNT Express UAE has received the TAPA Certification for 2011-2013, with an audit score of 97% for its main DX7 Depot located in Dubai. Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) is a global forum of security, insurance and logistics professionals established to ensure the safe and secure transport, storage and warehousing of TAPA members assets throughout the world.
Mark Pell, the recently appointed general Manager for TNT Express UAE, said: “We have once again proven our dedication to continuously improve our services. TNT Express’ investment into enhancing security standards contributes to a better and safer global service offering to our customers.”
TAPA certified companies must pass a detailed independent physical premises audit to ensure compliance with numerous Freight Security Requirements (FSRs). The FSR contains elements for access control, employee checks, perimeter security, intruder security devices, monitoring systems, high value storage areas, transit delays and for other areas of concern in warehouses, distribution centres, and consolidation facilities, as well as specifying minimum security measures for drivers.
“This was again a very stringent audit and we are proud to have maintained an almost perfect score. TAPA certification demonstrates our commitment to our global clients’ needs”, added Pell.
Bryan Moulds, managing director for TNT Express Middle East, added: “A high level of security is crucial when handling our customers’ valuable consignments. The TAPA certification has played a major role in maintaining a notable standard in the logistics industry across the Middle East region.”
