Collect+ to offer drop-off points for Parcel2Go users

UK parcel delivery firm Collect+ is now making its services available via the Parcel2Go.com online shipping website. The company, a joint venture with UK carrier Yodel, said the move will mean that Parcel2Go customers will be able to make use of its network of more than 3,800 drop-off points at local retail outlets.

Collect+ launched its drop-off services earlier this year, offering delivery services for parcels to arrive at recipient addresses within threee to five working days after being dropped off at a local shop on the PayPoint network.

The delivery services are run by parent company Yodel, the UK’s second largest parcel delivery business after the Royal Mail.

Mark Lewis, CEO of Collect+, said partnering with Parcel2Go meant working with the “UK’s largest parcel booking service”.

He said: “Our partnership provides another route for parcel senders to experience our service and so benefit from the choice and convenience that lies at the heart of Collect+.”

Collect+ said its network of stores has grown “significantly” since the beginning of the year, and, as a result, more than 80% of people in UK towns are now within a mile of a Collect+ outlet.

Almost all of Collect+ drop-off points are open seven days a week, with early opening times and late closing.

Parcel2Go was founded in 2000, and since then has grown to allow more than 125,000 customers to access UK shipping services. The Bolton-based company said partnering with Collect+ meant an additional option for customers to drop off parcels.

James Greenbury, CEO of Parcel2Go, said: “The introduction of Collect+ means that Parcel2Go is giving our customers the widest choice of carriers so that they can opt for the service that is right for them. From today, our customers can choose to drop off a parcel at a store on their doorstep that is open long hours, seven days a week.”

Hatfield-based Yodel, formerly known as Home Delivery Network until it acquired the domestic UK divisions of DHL Express last year and rebranded, also provides shipping services via Parcel2Go.
