CEVA wins delivery deal with e-commerce giant Newegg
CEVA Logistics has won a multi-million dollar deal to provide home delivery services for US e-commerce giant Newegg. The deal was announced yesterday after Newegg executives toured CEVA’s site in Carson, which along with Newegg’s headquarters is in the Greater Los Angeles area of California.
CEVA, which already provides around 400,000 home deliveries each year for retailers in North America, will provide delivery for televisions purchased on the Newegg website, the second largest online-only retailer in the United States with annual sales of $2.3bn.
Deliveries will originate from the three Newegg warehouses in the US, including its headquarters site in Industry, California, as well as sites in Memphis, Tennessee, and in Edison, New Jersey.
CEVA said Newegg will be making use of its ONEView track and trace system to keep customers updated on the status and location of their new televisions.
Service
Nelson Bettencourt, senior vice president of CEVA’s domestic US network, said customer experience was the “most important” element of his company’s service.
“It gives us a great deal of pride to know that Newegg appreciates our service and selected our team as its home delivery provider,” he said.
CEVA, the company formed in 2007 from the merger of TNT Logistics and US-based EGL Eagle Global Logistics, has 80 dedicated logistics locations and 100 flexible locations in its North American network.
Newegg currently offers shipping through FedEx, UPS and the US Postal Service, with local deliveries within 40 miles of its warehouses by Dallas-based firm Dynamex, Inc.
Bernard Luthi, senior vice president of marketing, web management and customer service at Newegg, said his company had been “impressed” by CEVA’s operations.
“It is clear that CEVA shares our commitment to providing the very best customer service possible,” he said. “We look forward to seeing where this partnership will lead in the future as we continue to grow and expand our presence globally.”
