La Poste plans to close down DPD France
La Poste, the French national postal services group, is pursuing the restructuring of its parcels activity, which generates FFr10m in turnover in France. After closing down Dilipack, the group also plans to terminate the activities of DPD France, its other express business parcel delivery service, acquired in 2000 and controlled by holding company Geopost.
A plan to declare the company bankrupt was presented to the group’s assistant directors on November 20, along with plans to transfer staff to Chronopost and Tat Express. DPD France is the French arm of a group of franchised German companies, DPD, acquired by La Poste in 2000 and present in 18 European countries.
