Satori Software launches mail tracking add-on

US data quality and mailing preparation specialists Satori Software have launched a new mail stream monitoring add-on for its Bulk Mailer and Mailroom TookKit software.

The Seattle-based firm said this week that the new add-on can transform US Postal Service scanning data, from the Intelligent Mail barcode (IMb) system into easily understandable information its customers can use to track and analyse their mail. Supporting both Basic and Full Service IMb users, the company said its system retrieves scan data automatically, with no need for a manual import or export of mailing data.

Randy Hoefer, SVP of research and product strategy at Satori Software, said: “With EasyTrack, our customers can take advantage of mail tracking data with simple, actionable reports that really help improve their service.”

Cognex launches optical scanning system

Cognex Corporation has launched a new barcode reader for high-speed logistics applications including tote scanning print and apply verification and carton code reading.

The DataMan 300 barcode reader (pictured above right) is a camera-based reader that the company says achieves higher read rates than laser scanners. The new reader compliments the DataMan 500, which was launched last year.

Carl Gerst, vice president and business unit manager of ID products at Massachusetts-based Cognex, said: “The DataMan 500 reads 1-D or 2-D codes presented in any direction at high speeds for postal, parcel and package sortation as well as presentation scanning. The DataMan 300 is now available to take on fixed 1-D code reading for high-speed tote scanning and print and apply lines.”

Parascript launches formal partner programme

US image recognition technology firm Parascript has launched a new partner programme to expand distribution of its recognition software

The Colorado-based company said its new programme would allow it to work on a more formal basis with partners including manufacturers, integrators and resellers in making use of Parascript technology in their products or services. Partners will have access to the company’s Partner Portal to access support, information and software updates.

The new partner program includes three levels – silver, gold and platinum – to cater to specific needs of different partners with different levels of discounts and service provision.

UK wrapping machine manufacturer expands to North America

International Mailroom Machines Ltd has formed a partnership with Canadian firm Insource Corporation to distribute its poly-wrapping machines in North America.

Insource, which has its headquarters in Markham, Ontario, will be bringing the iMM i6 Series to Canada and the United States. Leeds-based IMM, which now has distributors in more than 20 countries, said Insource has also been appointed authorised service agents and parts supplier for its machines, and will have a dedicated team at iMM’s manufacturing base.

Mika Salomaa (Sales Director iMM) said “We are very pleased to enter into this partnership with Insource, at iMM we are building our business on a platform of quality, delivery and above all treating our customers fairly and as two organisations it’s clear that we share the same goals.”
