Deutsche Post loses appeal
A court in the city of Cologne has ruled that Deutsche Post AG, the German post office, cannot monopolise the term “Post”. It ruled against a claim by Deutsche Post against a local company which had been given a license deliver mail, which it did under the brand name “Postmodern”.
The court ruled that there was not a danger that the public would confuse Postmodern with Deutsche Post.
