FedEx expands freight forwarding presence in US

FedEx Corp has said its freight forwarding unit FedEx Trade Networks has opened three new US offices as part of an ongoing expansion programme. The new offices are located in Phoenix, Arizona, in St Louis, Missouri, and in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The expansion means that since 2008, FedEx Trade Networks has now opened 50 new offices around the world, bringing its total up to 120 including previously existing offices in North America.

The new offices will provide a range of air and ocean freight forwarding and customs brokerage services.

FedEx said each office was staffed with logistics professionals experienced in the industry and knowledgeable about the local market concerned.

Andy Henry, the vice president of US operations for FedEx Trade Networks, said the new offices would strengthen his company’s infrastructure and provide enhanced coverage in the new markets.

“Opening additional US offices is a key component of our ongoing global expansion,” he said.

“Over the last few years we have established operations in some of the world’s most significant freight forwarding markets to support our growing customer base.”
