Brazil Post expands express services with SEDEX 12
Brazil’s Post and Telegraph Company has said it is expanding its express delivery portfolio as of this week, with the addition of a new SEDEX 12 service. The service will deliver documents and goods with a guaranteed delivery time before 12pm the next day after posting.
Initially, the service will be run in a pilot phase only within the states of Minas Gerais, Rio Grande do Sul, Espirito Santo and Sao Paulo.
It should then be extended around the country.
Brazil Post said the service would operate out of areas in which its SEDEX 10 service is not available in order to expand the coverage of its express services through more cities.
The new service allows up to three delivery attempts before an item is termed undelivered and a note of attempted delivery provided. It also comes with tracking capabilities and is automatically covered by insurance for losses, damage or delivery failure.
In a statement, the postal service said: “SEDEX 12 is another solution for the customer’s need for delivery of items early in the morning, but with the safety, quality and service reach only the Post Office can offer.”
The new service comes as Brazil Post celebrates the 30th anniversary of its SEDEX service portfolio, which includes overnight service SEDEX 10, sameday service SEDEX Today, the international service SEDEX Mundi and the e-commerce version e-SEDEX.
